Getting There

In order to have a healthy body, you must first have a healthy mind. Think clear, positive thoughts. Do yoga to distress. Don’t worry about the futures until it gets there. Eat foods that will nourish your body, and don’t punish it. Your body will strive and show you wonders when you allow it to. By eating processed and greasy foods, you are disabling your body of its full potential. Can you say that after eating McDonalds that you feel good and energized? Probably not. Does it make you happy? Sure, it may, but that is only a temporary happiness. Your mind gets temporary satisfaction from eating fast food and unhealthy food, but in the long run, your body won’t show it.

If you eat nutritious and healthy foods, your body will grow and be healthy. Think about all the junk and toxins you put into your body when you eat those things. Most of the time, you have no idea where it comes from. My theory is, if you don’t know where it was made, you should not eat it. That’s why when it comes to plant based foods, you know it’s good for you. And you will see results as well.
Exercise and yoga are also key components in having a healthy body. Remember, having a healthy life isn’t about the number on the scale, or even how thin you can look. The results should be how you feel on the INSIDE! If you’re body feels good, and you’re mind feels good, then that is the only thing that should matter. Exercise and eating healthy makes you happy. You will never feel bad or regret a workout and eating a salad. You will however regret eating a large poutine with extra cheese and gravy.

You also cannot expect to see results in yourself if you work out but don’t eat clean. Yes you may go to the gym 5 times a week and workout for 2 hours, but it won’t make a difference if you’re still putting that junk into your body. If you want to see results in yourself, eat clean 100% and exercise when you feel like it. If you miss a day at the gym, it is not the end of the world! You will not get fat from it, so don’t let it get you down. If you are eating clean, you have nothing to worry about!

The good thing about eating clean is that you never have to worry about gaining weight or what you eat. You can eat as much as you want, whenever you want, because it’s all good for your body. Don’t bother wasting your time counting calories and macros. Don’t think about how many calories are in your oatmeal or smoothie, because it is irrelevant. Everything has calories, but that does not mean it is bad for you. Avocados have a high calorie and fat content, but you know what, they are amazing for you! So don’t stress over the things that don’t matter. As long as you eat healthy and you feel good, then you are on your way to a healthy life.

  1. Is it really okay to ignore the calories? Even for weight loss?
