Okay, so I just wanted to take a few moments to talk about
people and food. There are always controversial debates on vegan’s vs.
carnivores, and the vegans always argue we do not need to kill living creatures
to survive, and the carnivores will argue that our ancestors have done it for
thousands of years, and it’s the natural way of life. Well, I’m here to state
MY opinion.
No, I do not think it is necessary for humans to slaughter
innocent farm animals and use their meat for food. Why is it that sheep, cows,
chickens, lambs, pigs, etc. are used for food, yet dogs, cats, bunnies, etc.
are considered household pets, and to even consider eating them would be
atrocious?
What distinguishes the difference between them, size? Well
why don’t we eat sharks, lions, and tigers? Other people argue that this is the
circle of life. Humans were “put on this planet to kill and eat other animals”
and that is the way our ancestors have always done it, and it’s how we need to
survive. I’d just like to point out that our ancestors ALSO survived off the
land by picking fruit, berries, nuts, legumes, etc. It is also FAR MORE easier
to pick plants to eat, then hunting down an animal, killing it, and cooking it.
Also, it is biologically proven that humans in fact, do NOT
need animal meat to survive. They simply eat it for the taste and pleasure. That
brings me to my next point. If humans ARE supposed to live off of animals, WHY
do so many people get sick and overweight from doing so? You will never see an
obese person who eats a raw vegan plant based diet. Why? Because those foods
are healthy and nourish your body. They make your skin radiant, and your hair
thicker. Your overall well-being will glow and be happier. But when people eat
meat and other animal by-products, they can feel sick, bloated, and gain
weight, just from eating hamburgers, chicken, hot dogs, bacon, etc. Do you
really think eating a greasy dead pig is appetizing and worth it? Those are
innocent creatures out there being slaughtered so you can be satisfied with
greed. Other people argue that they raise their animals on their own farm and
treat them like family. They are raised well, and when it is their time, they
kill them and eat/sell them. But I say, how does that make ANY difference if
they are raised well or not? I understand factory farming and cruelty to
animals is terrible for them, but even if you do treat them and raise them
well, they are still ending up dead and in the same place.
That’s all I really have to say on that subject. And to end
off, here’s another relevant photo I have on “hunting”
